Swindon-based Excalibur Communications acquired by Onecom

Swindon-based communications company Excalibur Communications has been acquired by Onecom Group.

Business communications technology and cloud communications specialist Onecom said the deal will provide it with additional capacity and capability through its team and geographic reach from Excalibur’s Swindon Operations Centre.

Founded in 1997, Excalibur Communications provides managed IT and telecom services to more than 4,000 SMEs in the South and South West.

The firm underwent a management buyout in 2018.

Established in 2002 and headquartered in Hampshire, Onecom employs more than 600 people in offices around the UK, and counts Vodafone, Microsoft, Google, Mitel, Samsung, Apple, Gamma and Five9 as its strategic partners.

Martin Flick, CEO of Onecom Group, said: “The acquisition of Excalibur Communications is highly complementary to our ongoing expansion and diversification strategy.

“Both organisations have strongly aligned values and cultures, with an obsession for simply brilliant customer experiences and delivering solutions to our customers that derive real benefit and demonstrable outcome-based value.

“Excalibur’s reputation for delivering exceptional communication and managed IT solutions, and customer service aligns perfectly with our ethos and strong customer-centric approach.”

“The pedigree of the team, coupled with their excellent customer base, makes this acquisition a logical step for Onecom in scaling up its managed services and fortifying its diversified market presence.

“The inclusion of Excalibur into the Onecom family extends our service offerings and underpins our commitment to deliver comprehensive managed IT and communication solutions across the UK.”

“We are delighted to welcome the Excalibur team, who share our commitment to providing exceptional products, services and simply brilliant customer experiences to UK businesses of all sizes, into the Onecom Group.”

Peter Boucher, CEO of Excalibur, said, “Joining forces with Onecom opens a new chapter for us, one that presents immense opportunities for our customers and team.

“Our aligned vision to offer unparalleled service and solutions has been fundamental to our decision. The legacy of Excalibur is built on the dedication and excellence of our team.

“I am immensely proud of the culture and team engagement we have forged and am excited to see this thrive within the Onecom Group.”
