IT provider backs rugby club
Communications and IT solutions provider Excalibur is the new sponsor of Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Football Club, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this season.
The club currently fields four senior sides, with the First XV playing in Tribute South West Premier Division.
The club also provides coaching, training and matches for Under 17/18 Colts, a full Minis’ Rugby section for boys and girls aged 5 to 12, and Junior teams aged 13 to 16, including two Girls Rugby teams, the ‘Basset Ravens’.
Peter Boucher, Excalibur CEO, said: “Royal Wootton Bassett is our local rugby club and a community success story.
“As a business based in Swindon, Excalibur is very happy to have a close association with the club.
“Not only does it have one of the best amateur teams in the country, which makes it fun to follow, but we wholeheartedly support its commitment to providing opportunities for local people of all ages to participate and enjoy rugby.”
Chris Elias, chairman of Royal Wootton Bassett RFC, said: “We are delighted to have Peter Boucher and his team from Excalibur join us as a major sponsor this year.
“Peter comes from a rugby background and he totally understands the value a club like Royal Wootton Bassett RFC provides to the local community – even more so now as we come out of lockdown.
“The funds that Excalibur have provided will be invested in equipment for our new health & conditioning facility, so it really will provide a long-term benefit for all club members.”
