Wiltshire law firm names its charity of the year

A Wiltshire charity that empowers parents to give their children the best start in life has been chosen by law firm Goughs as its charity of the year.

Home-Start North Wiltshire will benefit from the proceeds of fundraising events at the firm for the next 12 months.

The firm has more than 100 staff across seven offices in Wiltshire. Last year’s nominated charity, Scotty’s Little Helpers, benefitted from £5,000 of support.

Joanne Kent Home-Start North Wiltshire said: “Being a parent to young children has never been easy. It can bring the most delightful joy, and can also be lonely, frustrating, heartbreaking and overwhelming.

“With the right support, things can get easier, making day-to-day life and children’s futures so much brighter.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Goughs Solicitors have chosen us to be their charity of the year.

“We are really looking forward to working together and are excited about the fundraising activities ahead!

“Gough’s support will help us reach more families who need support and give them the help they need for a brighter future.”

Laura Cole, head of charity fundraising at Goughs, added: “We are really excited that Home-Start are our new charity of the year.

“The work they do in supporting families with young children is so important and the fact they are so local to our Wiltshire communities is a great bonus.

“Through the work our family and private client teams carry out, supporting families is very close to our hearts.

“We are therefore already planning some fantastic fundraising events for the year ahead including runs, walks, bake-offs, quizzes, raffles and much more.”
