Goughs make new appointment to private client team

Wiltshire law firm Goughs has made a new appointment to its private client team. Tom Gauterin has joined the firm as legal director, based at the Greenways office in Chippenham.

Tom is a private client and tax lawyer with 19 years’ post-qualification experience and is a chartered tax advisor.

He also brings significant expertise in charity law.

His career spans a number of highly regarded UK firms, including Smith & Williamson, Taylor Wessing, and Burges Salmon.

Throughout this time, Tom has built a strong reputation for advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on complex UK and international tax and succession planning matters.

His expertise includes inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning, estate and succession planning, domicile and residency issues, multi-jurisdictional estate strategies, family investment companies, private equity tax planning, and complex governance arrangements.

Goughs says Tom’s depth of experience and technical knowledge will significantly strengthen the firm’s ability to advise clients with sophisticated private wealth needs.
