Law firm Goughs raises £6k for chosen charity

Wiltshire law firm Goughs has raised over £6,000 for its charity of the year, Home-Start North Wiltshire.

The charity has been helping families with young children across the county for over 35 years, offering practical and emotional support to parents who need an extra helping hand.

The charity was chosen as Goughs’ charity partner from April 2025.

Over the past year, the team at Goughs has raised £6,160 for the charity, while also working closely with Home-Start North Wiltshire to help raise awareness of the support they offer and reach more families locally.

One of the highlights of the year was a Teddy Bears’ Picnic held in Melksham, organised in partnership with Home-Start North Wiltshire.

The free event brought together local families during the summer holidays, with lunch provided and children given teddy bears to take home.

Goughs has also supported the charity through smaller, thoughtful initiatives across the year, including providing Mother’s Day gifts to mums supported by Home-Start North Wiltshire and ‘thank you’ gifts for the charities’ wonderful volunteers during Volunteers’ Week.

Joanne Kent, fundraiser and community engagement coordinator from Home-Start North Wiltshire said: “What a fantastic year it has been partnering with Goughs!

“Through a range of fundraising events, they raised an incredible £6,160 for HomeStart North Wiltshire, and we are hugely grateful for their support.

“Goughs’ fundraising helped us support 185 families across Wiltshire and 322 children. It has been a real pleasure to partner with Goughs.

“Their commitment, enthusiasm and kindness have helped make a lasting difference to local families facing challenging times.”

Laura Cole, marketing and business development director at Goughs, said: “We’ve really enjoyed working with Home-Start North Wiltshire over the past year.

“The work they do is so important, especially for families going through a tough time, and it’s been great to support them not just through fundraising, but by helping raise awareness of what they do.”

The firm’s charity partner for 2026 is Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance.
