Goughs Solicitors celebrates top rankings in Legal 500
Wiltshire law firm Goughs is celebrating top rankings in Legal 500.
In the 2026 rankings, Goughs’ commercial property team achieved Tier 2 for Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. The firm said it was a significant step up in regional recognition and “reflected the firm’s growing reputation in handling acquisitions, disposals, leasing, development land, landlord & tenant matters and refinancing work. ”
The firm remains exceptionally highly listed in family law and private client too.
Thomas Boyce, head of the family team, said: “Independent feedback from clients and researchers affirms the quality, consistency and commercial relevance of our advice across multiple disciplines.
“Prospective clients can see that across commercial, family and private client work, Goughs is trusted and well regarded.
“From a family-specific perspective, to be consistently ranked and to hear such strong client feedback, is deeply gratifying. We always endeavour to combine technical knowledge with empathy and clarity for clients going through difficult times and to have achieved this is humbling.”
Emma Taylor, head of private client, added: “For our private client team to be recognised and to receive such heartfelt praise is a great testament to the commitment of every lawyer and staff member involved in wills, trusts, estate planning and probate work. We’ll continue to build on this foundation.”
Gemma Sumsion, head of corporate & commercial property, said: “Advancing to Tier 2 in the Southwest region is a major milestone for our commercial property team.
“It reflects the strength of our property work and the confidence our clients place in us. It energises us to aim higher still.
“To see one of our own, Aimee Glover, named specifically as a leading associate, is a very proud moment for us.”
Victoria Nash, HR director, said: “As we celebrate these well-deserved wins with our people, we will continue recruiting and nurturing strong legal talent in commercial, property, family and private client disciplines.
“We will also continue to cultivate even deeper specialisms in emerging areas: agricultural land, rural property, cross-jurisdictional estate planning and complex high-value family matters, amongst others.”
