Mogers Drewett invites businesses to ‘Move On Up’ during Mental Health Awareness Week

South West legal and financial planning firm Mogers Drewett is hosting a special HR event to highlight the important relationship between physical activity and mental wellbeing at work.

The Move On Up workshop is being held at Rengen House co-working space in Argyle St, Bath, on Thursday, May 16 from 5pm as part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024.

Mogers Drewett’s specialist HR support team will be on hand to share their professional insights on integrating movement into daily life for improved mental health.

The event is aimed at small and medium businesses across the local area, in particular for leaders with people management responsibilities who want to find out more about the impact of an employee’s physical wellbeing on business performance.

Speakers will include Ben Morris, head of people and performance at Mogers Drewett, and Lucy Cotterell, an experienced human resources consultant at the firm.

A fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, Ben is also a qualified strength and conditioning coach, and mental health first aider, with qualifications in cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness.

Ben has also represented England in the sport of kettlebell, winning a bronze medal at the 2022 International Kettlebell Marathon Federation (IKMF) World Championships in Belgium.

Lucy has more than 20 years’ experience in HR and has worked at director level before moving into HR consultancy for clients. Her team at Mogers Drewett provides dedicated HR support to businesses across the South West.

Other speakers include professional fitness coach Andy Watson from BathFitFam, a community health and fitness group, who will also be present to demonstrate simple physical exercises that can be applied to everyday routines to help boost mental wellbeing.

Ben Morris said: “The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is moving more for our mental health.

“Being active is crucial for our mental wellbeing, yet busy-ness, information overload and unhelpful perfectionism block building any movement into our routine.”
