Established 1882, Wansbroughs LLP is a law firm based in Devizes, with an additional office in London. The firm has over 100 staff members, including approximately 20 partners.

The firm is ranked in the Legal 500 for excellence in areas including Commercial Property, Corporate & Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Family and Wills, Tax, Trusts and Probate.

The firm is also noted for its high client satisfaction, a Legal 500 accolade awarded only to the top 30 per cent of law firms in their respective jurisdictions.

Wansbroughs is known to undertake complex and intricate work, often associated with much larger city practices.

Providing legal advice for over 140 years

Established 1882 by H.R Wansbrough – the first office was located in Bristol, above a popular wine bar. The practice expanded over the years until, by the time HR died in 1940, the firm had nine partners, and branches in Weston, Melksham and Devizes, and because its many partners could supply almost any advice anyone might need was irreverently known in the West Country as “the legal Woolworths”.

Fast forward to today, and the firm has more than 100 staff, including around 20 partners. Its head office is in Devizes with a further satellite office on Regent Street, London.

In May 2024, Anna Wensley Stock became the first female Managing Partner in the firm’s history.
