Thrings celebrates “collective effort” in continued Legal 500 success

Outstanding client feedback has fuelled Thrings continued presence in the prestigious Legal 500 rankings – with its family and agriculture teams having secured places in the top tier.

The annual directory, which has drawn from research of law firms across the world for more than 30 years, uses the testimony of thousands of clients to highlight the outstanding firms and individuals in the legal profession.

In the 2026 directory, Thrings’ various departments have retained 17 places in the rankings.

The firm’s South East family team in its Romsey office were commended by clients – that they “genuinely care for them” and handle everything “professionally and with care”.

This has seen them take their place in the upper echelons of the directory for the first time with a with a coveted Tier 1 ranking.

They join Thrings’ “outstanding” and “approachable” South West agriculture team who retain their long-held top tier ranking, praised by clients in the rankings for their “honest and thorough appraisal of situations which gives confidence in decision making”.

The Hampshire-based agriculture team and South West family team also feature in this year’s directory, retaining their places secured last year – as do its succession and tax and contentious trusts and probate teams in the South West.

Thrings’ ability to support businesses, from start-ups to market leaders, has also been demonstrated in the rankings with its corporate and commercial teams in Bristol and Swindon, retaining their recommended statuses – as do its banking and finance and employment teams.

This is backed by strong rankings for its specialist commercial litigation, intellectual property, and insolvency and restructuring teams.

Continuing the firm’s prowess in the real estate sector, the firm’s commercial property, construction and planning and environment services all retain their rankings.

Thrings has also welcomed the news that its lawyers have secured 12 places in the lawyer rankings, with a further 38 recognised, demonstrating the exceptional individuals throughout the firm.

Joining the ranks of Leading Partners for the first time is Elaine Meyrick (corporate – Bristol), pictured.
