Thrings appoints record 11 new partners in latest promotions round
West law firm Thrings has appointed 11 new partners as part of a promotions round that has seen 19 colleagues advance across the business.
The firm said around half of those promoted began their legal careers at Thrings, underlining its focus on developing talent from within.
The new partners span several departments, including agriculture, real estate, succession and tax, family, corporate and business services. Jo Campbell, Thrings’ head of business development, and Sophie Boxall, head of quality and risk, have both been appointed partners in business services.
Thrings has also continued to invest in its private client offering, promoting seven lawyers across its Succession and Tax, Residential Property and Family teams.
In Romsey, Holly Algar has been made a partner, while former Hampshire Junior Lawyer of the Year Sam Longmore has been promoted to senior associate. Gemma Goode becomes a partner in Succession and Tax, with Moses Thompson in Lydney and Megan Alexander in Bath both advancing to senior associate.
The firm’s Residential Property team has added Richard Reed as a partner, while Anna Patterson becomes the newest partner in its Family team in Swindon.
Thrings’ nationally recognised Agriculture team has gained three new partners. Litigators Richie Rees and Polly Ridgway have been promoted from legal director roles, while Claire Davies joins the partnership from her senior associate position. Jessica Moore, based in the litigation team in Ross-on-Wye, has become an associate.
The Real Estate team has also seen strong progression, with Naomi Butler promoted to partner, Lorna Medcraft becoming a senior associate and Annabel Rowland advancing to associate. In Planning and Environment, Bristol-based Kiran Maher has been made a senior associate.
Two further promotions have taken place in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Dispute Resolution teams. Joe Watkins has been made a partner in the Corporate team, while commercial litigation specialist Dan Gibson becomes a senior associate.
Simon Holdsworth, managing partner at Thrings, said: “This latest round of promotions, including a record 11 new Partners, reflects the strength of our business, the high-quality service we provide to clients, and the success of our people.
“It’s particularly rewarding to see a significant proportion of those promoted having started their careers at Thrings.
“Congratulations to everyone promoted this year. These accomplishments are thoroughly deserved. Each one of these people has an important part to play in our future, and I’m excited to see their careers continue to grow at Thrings.”
The promotions cover Thrings’ offices and teams across the South West and beyond, including Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Romsey, Lydney and Ross-on-Wye.
