Purpol Marketing’s Denise O’Leary wins gold at International Business Awards

Purpol Marketing founder Denise O’Leary has won a gold and four silvers at the International Business Awards.

The Chippenham-based bid-writing expert scooped the Stevie Awards in the Company of the Year and Thought Leadership categories at the 20th Annual International Business Awards.

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program.

All individuals and organisations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2023 IBAs received 3,700 entries from organisations in 61 nations and territories.

Winners will be celebrated during a gala banquet at the Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel, in Rome on Friday, October 13.

Purpol Marketing won the prestigious Gold Stevie Award in the Company of the Year – Diversified Services – Small category and additionally won three Silver Stevie Awards in the Company of the Year – Advertising, Marketing, & Public Relations – Small and Company of the Year – Business or Professional Services – Small classifications.

Founder Denise won a Silver Stevie Award in the Thought Leader of The Year – Government or Non-Profit, recognising the work she has done winning £330,000 Grants for charities in recent years.

From Purpol’s Gold Stevie Award-winning entry, the panel of international judges commented: “The company has diversified their business and invested in new markets. This expansion has led to substantial growth and gains.

“This is a very compelling and insightful entry that is solving for a niche use case in the market. I am impressed by this nomination and the excellent supporting documentation and credentials they possess to back up your entry.

“Purpol Marketing has established strong roots and relationships in the UK market and seems to enjoy a distinct advantage in the market. Their impressive win rate, close engagement with the UK government, and established reputation in the industry is very inspirational.”

On the Thought Leadership entry, the judges commented “Denise O’Leary MBE is a great thought leader and role model to others and has demonstrated exceptional thought leadership through impactful initiatives. Purpol’s grant writing assistance for charities, provided on a no-win-no-fee basis, has secured over £330k in grants, enabling them to continue their valuable community work.

“Through successful crowdfunding campaigns, she had enabled several projects to be implemented including projects that combat loneliness, support the elderly, and promote mental and emotional well-being.

“Denise’s thought leadership and grant writing expertise have been instrumental in these achievements. The impact she has made in the lives of thousands of individuals, particularly during the pandemic, is significant and unique.”

Denise – pictured at the Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service held in Las Vegas in March – said: “The International Business Awards are one of the most respected truly international accolades. To be awarded as a five-times Stevie Award winner by these most prestigious awards is an incredible feeling both humbling and incredible.

“To have the opportunity to showcase the work we have done to support young people and charities through the pandemic is important, so we encourage all businesses to deliver community benefitting initiatives.

“I am super excited and look forward to celebrate with world-leading businesses in Rome in mid October.

“We are also delighted to be put forward for the vote for the People’s Choice award for world’s favourite companies within three business categories: Company of the Year – Diversified Services; Company of the Year – Advertising, Marketing, & Public Relations and Company of the Year – Business or Professional Services – please vote for us in all of these categories at https://peopleschoice.stevieawards.com/ until September 15 when voting closes.”
