Corporate events space to open in Swindon shop vacated by New Look
A large retail space in the centre of Swindon is to reopen as an events space hosting corporate events, weddings, and parties.
Commercial property consultants Kilpatrick & Co have announced that the lease of 55-61 Regent Street – which was occupied by fashion chain New Look until it closed days before Christmas – has been taken by Venue3.
The space will be used to host events for up to 600 people after planning permission for a change of use was granted last year.
Venue3, who will occupy 4,671 sq ft on the ground floor, are currently fitting out the premises.
There is still 5 ,525 sq ft of retail floorspace available on the ground floor with a window display onto Regent Street plus 20,935 sq ft on the first floor to let in whole or parts, suitable for retail, offices, restaurant, storage, other uses.
Alex Hill, of Kilpatrick & Co, said: “We are pleased to complete this letting and provide a new function room for the public to hold the events of their dreams and get another vacant shop in the town centre reoccupied.”
The letting follows on from Kilpatrick & Co’s successful letting of the former ShoeZone unit at 61 Regent Street to Julia’s House children’s hospice charity last year.
