Kilpatrick & Co secures lettings at Marlborough’s Hughenden Yard
Commercial property agent Kilpatrick & Co has secured a number of new lettings at Hughenden Yard, Marlborough, which the firm manages on behalf of the landlord.
Newcomers to Hughenden include Merlins Pool Hall, who have taken over the former Azuza nightclub at Unit 10. They have 7 Black Ball Tables with Strachan 861 cloths, Pro Cup balls offering professional pool for the public and a fully licensed bar.
Two new independent retailers have opened new shops in Hughenden Yard, adding to Marlborough’s reputation as an attractive shopping destination.
Larrie Lang has opened her florist shop Feather Moss next door to Packaging Not Included. And Mother-and-daughter team, Jan and Kate Winter, have opened The Bay Tree a home and gift shop in the former Monsoon unit to the rear of Everfields Organic shop.
Feather Moss offers indoor and outdoor plants, trinkets and candles, upcycled pots and vases, together with fresh-cut flowers and floral designs for weddings, funerals and events.
Free local delivery is available together with gift wrapping.
Larrie, who has worked in florist shops all over the world, has always had the ambition to run her own shop.
She said: “I fell in love with Marlborough and the shop. I enjoy all aspects of floristry but especially bridal work – the colours, the detail, the textures and helping to make the day special. I’m keen to be as eco-friendly as possible and use biodegradable wrapping and bases for my designs.”
The Bay Tree sells a range of gifts, including soft furnishings, photo frames, jewellery, handbags, Wiltshire candles, Gloucestershire ceramics, bamboo socks, scarves, garden mirrors and planters, soft toys and more.
The Devizes branch of The Bay Tree has been operating successfully in the Market Place, Devizes for eight years.
There is free local delivery and items can be posted UK wide. Jan Winter said “We love Marlborough. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and we have made good friends already. We have lovely gifts and lovely treats for you. Kate Loxton handbags and sunglasses are flying off the shelves. We are always on hand to advise on gifts.”
Andrew Kilpatrick of Kilpatrick & Co said: “We are pleased to welcome these three new traders into Hughenden Yard as they have added to the bustle and with Elaine café/restaurant back in full swing following the traumas of the Covid lockdowns, the shopping precinct is looking lively again at last.
“We have been very pleased to welcome the new businesses in alongside our long-established traders and as they add to the variety of the retail offer, we hope they will all be very successful.”
Kilpatrick & Co has one remaining unit left to let in Hughenden Yard of 745 sq ft.
