Balloon Fiesta Business Breakfast returns for 2026

Bristol International Balloon Fiesta Business Breakfast will return this summer with a renewed focus on the opportunities shaping Bristol and the West of England, following a successful 2025 event, which welcomed more than 150 guests.

Taking place on Friday, August 7 , the opening day of the 2026 Bristol International Balloon Fiesta at Ashton Court Estate, from 5.30am to 9am, the Business Breakfast is hosted in partnership with Albert Goodman and IOD South West.

The event, which is also supported by Bristol Business Improvement District, Woven Films and Cab IT, will once again bring together leaders from across business, government, academia, culture and the creative industries.

Set against the magical backdrop of the Fiesta’s first mass ascent, guests will witness the Fiesta’s Opening Ceremony while enjoying breakfast refreshments before engaging with two thought-provoking panel discussions.

This year’s theme, ‘The Sky’s the Limit’, will explore how culture, creativity, hospitality and collaboration can help create economic prosperity across the city and wider region.

Building on last year’s ‘Beyond the Horizon’ discussion, the 2026 Business Breakfast will shift the conversation beyond individual business success to consider the wider role that cultural strength, creative ambition and shared civic confidence play in driving growth.

The first panel, ‘Building a City of Opportunity’, will explore how culture, creativity and placemaking create stronger economies. Discussion will consider what makes Bristol one of the UK’s most attractive places to live, work and invest; why major events are increasingly recognised as economic infrastructure; and how business, local government and the cultural sector can work together more effectively.

It will also look at what Bristol can learn from cities such as Liverpool, where culture, major events and creativity have helped drive regeneration, inward investment and international profile.

The second panel, ‘The Sky’s the Limit’, will ask how business can harness Bristol’s cultural strength to create economic opportunity.

Speakers will discuss how the city’s reputation can become a competitive advantage, why companies are increasingly choosing Bristol over other UK cities, the role universities play in attracting international talent and research investment, and how organisations can work together to strengthen Bristol’s international profile.

The event will invite leaders from across the region to consider how a strong economy creates the confidence to invest in culture, while culture creates the environment in which businesses flourish.

The event is ticketed, with standard entry priced at £30 per person. Members of partner organisations, including IoD, Bristol Business Improvement District, Business West, Bristol & West of England China Bureau, Tech West England Advocates and the Bristol Junior Chamber of Commerce, will benefit from a discounted ticket price of £20. There is also a group ticket option available, offering 10 tickets for £200.
