Barratt Homes team raise largest ever amount for their charity of the year
Staff at construction firm Barratt Homes Bristol have raised more than £28,000 for their outgoing charity of the year, the Stroke Association.
A whole host of fundraising initiatives across 12 months – from 10k runs to quiz nights, furniture sales (pictured) to carol singing – have added to one of their highest charitable staff fundraising gifts.
Members of the Barratt team have also had chance to volunteer for the Stroke Association and sit down with key representatives of the charity to hear and share their story with communities where they are based – stories about stroke prevention, early diagnosis, the role of carers and more.
“It’s been such a wonderful experience working with the Stroke Association , opening our eyes to what the charity does and how stroke impacts on communities,” says sales director Andrea Pilgrim.
“Our team always want to make a difference to the charities we support, but the staff feel enriched by this year, too.”
Barratt Bristol’s charity for the coming year is The Harbour, a smaller, local charity helping hundreds of people facing their own early death, or dealing with grief after loss, and staff have already seen £6,000 go into the pot via a charity golf day.
