Recycling firm Grundon shortlisted for two business awards
Bristol waste management and recycling specialist Grundon has been shortlisted for a pair of prestigious South West regional business awards.
The Circle2Success (C2S) awards attract entrants from hundreds of businesses across the region each year in categories ranging across size and sectors.
Grundon, which operates out of St Philip’s in Bristol, has been shortlisted for the Medium Business and Family Business of the Year awards.
Judging will take place in April before finalists are announced in May, following which the awards evening itself takes place in Cirencester in July.
“We’re delighted to be shortlisted,” said Daniel Peacey, regional sales manager at Grundon. “Our team has put in a lot of hard work this year and we’re ambitious about the future, so it’s great to be down to the final few in the categories we’ve entered.
“Fingers crossed we’ll be successful at the finals – we’ll be working hard in the meantime to ensure our customers continue to receive the quality services they expect from us.”
Grundon was founded in 1929 and is now on its third generation to be managing the growth of the company, following the handing over of the reins to Neil Grundon in November 2022.
The company has been established in Bristol since 2020, during which time it has set up several key sustainability initiatives, including launching a £300k electric collection vehicle on to the city’s streets last summer.
During the past year the company’s client base in the South West has grown to more than 3,300 businesses across the two South West depots.
Over the coming months it will also be developing and equipping a new regional centre in Avonmouth as a key feature of how Grundon increases its regional presence.
“We’ve got exciting plans for the next few months and years,” said Daniel. “Our presence and reputation in Bristol’s city region and across the South West is growing all the time, and we’re looking to develop our offering with some interesting and exciting schemes.
“A new, forward-thinking culture is emerging in many aspects of the UK business community – one where longevity and sustainability are proving to be genuine business benefits, rather than nice-to-haves.
“Our client base recognises the brand value of partnering with a waste management provider who understands that their customers in turn expect to buy from organisations who take their environmental impact seriously.
“So we’re at the forefront of the sustainability revolution, not only because of what we do, but for how we do it – placing the values of quality and integrity at the forefront of our operations.”
C2S is a business community made up of businesspeople who care about their employees, the planet, their community and profit. They are ambitious organisations that spearhead positive change and drive growth.
Angela Edwards, founder and director at Circle 2 Success, said: “This year has seen the largest number of entries from across the region making our C2S Business Awards the largest, most prestigious business awards in the South West.
“We have received entries from across the region, from as far as Worcestershire and the Midlands, to Gloucestershire, Bristol, Somerset and Devon.
“We are delighted and proud to have achieved this success, allowing us to showcase the fantastic organisations in this region – good luck to all our shortlisted entries.”
