Grundon announces appointment of sales lead and two new apprentices in National Apprenticeship Week
Bristol-based waste management expert Grundon has started 2024 by appointing two new apprentices and an award-winning sales lead to help grow its presence in the city.
Nick Malvern, Grundon’s Salesperson of the Year in 2023, will lead the new team after spending the last two years out of Grundon’s base in Bishop’s Cleeve near Cheltenham.
Newly appointed to Grundon’s growing base in Bristol, Nick will lead a team of three which includes apprentices Arthur Parfitt and Charlie Powell.
Both are at the start of 18-month apprenticeships with BMS Progress, during which they will learn a variety of business skills as well as the particulars of providing waste management services in the local business community.
“It’s great to be part of a growing business and to be leading a team of enthusiastic, ambitious salespeople,” said Nick. “This year’s going to be an exciting one for the company as we look to develop relationships with local companies who share our values for quality and reliability.
“For us, it’s about recognising the benefits of high standards of service – we’re looking for companies who want a partner in their waste management, not just a supplier of low-price services.
“I hope we can communicate our own company values and the importance for our customers of sharing those values across the spectrum of how they operate their businesses.”
Grundon is a growing presence in Bristol, having launched in the city in 2020 at its base in St Philips.
Daniel Peacey, regional sales manager for Grundon in the South West, said: “We’ve been developing our presence in Bristol for a while and these appointments – bringing Nick down from Bishop’s Cleeve to lead this sales drive – feels like the final piece of the jigsaw.
“Nick, Arthur and Charlie will be particularly focused on the local, smaller businesses which make up a large part of our custom alongside the larger corporate accounts.
“We’re all looking forward to seeing how they get on and we’ll be supporting the apprentices as they grow and develop.”
National Apprenticeship Week runs from February 5 to 11.
