Wiltshire CFO named one of top 50 Women in Accounting 2024
The CFO of Wiltshire accountancy firm Gooding Accounts has been named one of top 50 Women in Accounting 2024.
Sherelyn Cowles was selected from 1,258 international nominations from 29 different countries to appear on the list.
The theme for the awards this year is Catalysts for change, celebrating women who are transforming the accountancy profession and working towards a more inclusive industry through leadership, innovation and mentorship.
With offices in Westbury, Warminster and Melksham, Gooding Accounts is 70 per cent female – unusual for an accountancy firm – and 75 per cent of the firm’s senior leadership team are women.
Sherelyn is an advocate for women in finance and beyond – building networks that champion female business owners and leaders.
She has led from the front as the Goodings’ team challenge themselves to raise £50,000 for local charities by the end of 2024 to celebrate 10 years in business.
This weekend she’ll complete the 5th of Ultra marathons of the summer to raise funds for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice.
She also instigated the ‘Sober for 6’ challenge where she and three other female members of the team spent six months alcohol-free to raise funds for Warminster-based charity Wessex MS Therapy Centre.
“I’m so thrilled to have been included in such an inspiring group of women who are breaking barriers and driving for a more inclusive and diverse accounting industry,” said Sherelyn.
