Filestream appoints new operations director

Specialist document management company Filestream has appointed Layla Cockburn as its new director of operations.

Layla Cockburn, from Twyford, has been an integral part of the Reading-based team for several years, providing accounting and other business support services.

After finishing university, Layla worked for the Sure Start project at Wokingham Borough Council and also provided freelance bookkeeping services for Filestream. She moved to Dubai for five years, but maintained her position with Filestream remotely.

Upon returning to the UK in 2014, she continued to support the company part-time, focusing on accounts, HR, office administration, and implementing a new information security system. Her dedication and versatility made her a vital asset to the team.

In addition to her work with Filestream, Layla has experience in the sports/event management sector and freelance bookkeeping. Her ability to adapt and excel in various roles makes her the perfect candidate to help lead Filestream into its next phase of growth.

Paul Day, who has recently been appointed as the managing director of Filestream, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Layla as our operations director. Her extensive experience and deep understanding of our company’s values and goals make her an invaluable addition to our leadership team. Together, we are poised to drive Filestream to new heights.”

Layla’s vision for her new role includes overseeing the finance function, implementing strong systems and processes, and encouraging a positive working culture. She aims to support Filestream’s marketing and sales efforts, ensuring the company continues to be recognised as a key player in the sector.
