Goughs recognised as one of South West’s leading law firms for sixth year running

Wiltshire law firm Goughs has been ranked as a leading law firm by the prestigious Legal 500 for the sixth year running.

The Legal 500 is widely regarded as a definitive list of leading UK and worldwide law firms. In order to be awarded a listing, Goughs had to undergo a rigorous independent assessment.

The rankings are based on client feedback and research of the firms. The thorough process allows firms to be recognised for providing cutting-edge advice to clients and providing outstanding client care.

Clients are contacted by The Legal 500 to provide anonymous testimonials in support of the rankings.

This year, clients praised the firm’s “superb, intelligent and tenacious” lawyers, commenting that Goughs has an “exceptional team from the partners through to their associates”.

The firm has been commended for giving “excellent advice”. Clients also noted that they were kept “well informed” receiving “timely responses to queries raised”.

The family team were noted as “approachable legal experts with a well-deserved reputation for excellent advice and client care.”

Partner and head of the family team, Thomas Boyce, himself noted within the guide for his dealings with “complex litigation alongside high-value non-litigious matters”, said: “I am exceptionally proud of the achievements of the family team.

“It is wonderful that the Legal 500 have recognised a number of individuals but this is very much the result of a fantastic team effort.

“The recognition is very well deserved and reflects the team’s expertise and dedication to their clients. We are continuing to grow our family team with great talent to ensure we continue such levels of success.”

The “outstanding” private client department was praised as a “client-centred, focused, clear and consistent” team.

Goughs’ “competent and responsive” real estate team were accredited with having a “great commercial property team with depth of experience and knowledge that is up there with much larger legal practices.’

Commenting on receiving such a high accolade, partner and head of real estate, Andrew Given, who himself was described as an “outstanding partner”, commented: “The team work tirelessly to provide exceptional service to their clients.
