Goughs named as a Leading Firm in Chambers guide
Wiltshire law firm Goughs Solicitors, which recently announced impressive accreditation from legal directory The Legal 500, has announced a further accolade – top tier rankings from Chambers & Partners.
For several years running Goughs have been recognised by Chambers & Partners for the excellence delivered in terms of client care and legal expertise.
The family department has once again been ranked in Band 1, with their real estate department ranked in Band 4.
In addition to the department rankings, three individuals have also been ranked: Thomas Boyce, Ross Phillips and Andrew Given.
This comfortably positions Goughs as a Leading Firm in the Chambers & Partners 2024 Guide, whose legal rankings are based on independently conducted in-depth analysis and research.
Clients applauded the Band 1 family team with the directory confirming that “Goughs’ client service is first class. Their clients are well looked after, supported and given that next level of customer service.”
Thomas Boyce (pictured), himself praised for his “technical ability” and specialism in “complex and high-value matters” partner and head of family, said: “Chambers’ 200+ researchers provide unique insight into complex areas of law and the service a firm provides.
“They conduct tens of thousands of interviews a year with in-house counsel and third-party experts, such as barristers and accountants, and crucially with the clients who have used that firm.
“It is their rigorous independent processes that makes us so incredibly proud to have been recognised by them and ranked, once again as a Band 1 family department. This recognition is extremely welcomed and I could not be prouder of the team for continuing to deliver at such an exceptionally high level.”
Family law partner Ross Phillips was praised for his “real strength is in the forming of client relationships” and “excellent manner”.
It was further noted that, “he is good at identifying the issues and doesn’t waste time with unnecessary points.”
The firm’s real estate team has also been recognised and ranked within the southwest geographical region which is a huge achievement for the firm.
The collaboration and knowledge sharing of the team was applauded by Chambers who stated: “What always impresses us is that each individual has a firm grasp on the progress of each matter.
“They appear to work very well together.” Additionally clients reported that “the lawyers provide clear, pragmatic and seasoned commercial advice that shows a real understanding of and care for their client’s business.”
Partner and head of real estate, Andrew Given, himself noted as “an excellent lawyer” and “a pleasure to work with” said: “It is a great testament to the level of hard work and commitment that the real estate team have been recognised by such a prestigious organisation.
“The daily commitment we show our clients has been gratefully rewarded. I am thrilled to be able to share such good news and look forward to growing the team and receiving even more recognition throughout 2024.”
