Awdry Law marketing executive shares success story for National Apprenticeship Week
The marketing executive at Wiltshire law firm Awdry Law has shared her apprenticeship success story to mark National Apprenticeship Week.
Mia Davies (19) completed her digital marketing apprenticeship in Autumn 2023 and was appointed marketing executive shortly afterwards.
Mia now manages the firm’s marketing strategy, PR and advertising activities, working across their five offices in Wiltshire to market the seven legal departments across the firm – wills, tax & probate, family law, conveyancing, commercial, land & development, dispute resolution, and employment law.
Mia said she chose to enrol in an apprenticeship scheme because she felt that gaining real-world experience of working in the marketing industry would be the best was to kickstart her career.
“Choosing an apprenticeship was the best thing I have ever done and has established a great career path for me at a young age.
“There is no doubt that the skills and experience I have gained in these early years of my career via the apprenticeship scheme will be integral in my future endeavours and I am excited to see what the future holds for me at such a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.
“For anyone looking into an apprenticeship and aspiring to have a career in digital marketing, I would highly recommend it.”
“I joined Awdry Law as an apprentice in January 2022 with minimal previous marketing experience and knowledge and have since been involved in various marketing activities across all key sectors and departments,” said Mia.
Her most significant achievement while at the firm was helping with a major rebrand from Awdry Bailey & Douglas to Awdry Law.
“This included a change of name, new logo, new website together with new collateral, signage and merchandise. I was specifically responsible for the promotion of the rebrand using social media, email marketing and creating initiatives to inform and create a sense of anticipation for all of our key stakeholders,” said Mia.
“In my role, no two days are the same and I am given the freedom to be creative, with enthusiasm from all the people here, and specifically the management board, to continue to suggest and develop new and unique marketing projects, and to generate brand awareness, reputation and trust, leading to new clients and growth across the various departments.”
Tim Hotchkiss, equity partner, and Mia’s supervisor, said: “Mia’s success story is a source of inspiration for those considering the apprenticeship route and I have been delighted with how her career to date at Awdry Law has evolved. Mia is an excellent example of what can be achieved with hard work, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn.
“I have been particularly impressed with just how well Mia has adapted to her new role. She is intelligent, hardworking, shows passion for marketing and is a superb asset to the business.
“Mia’s success is not only a testament to her abilities but also to the value of apprenticeships.
“It has been incredibly rewarding to follow the trajectory of Mia and other Apprentices during my nineteen years at the firm and I have enjoyed watching them grow and develop as they forge their own paths. As a business, we look forward to working with more Apprentices in the future.”
