Earning more than £32k in Wiltshire? – you’re above average, says annual report salary from CMD Recruitment
If you work in Wiltshire and earn more than £32,000 a year you’re doing better than average, according to the 2024 Recruitment Marketing Insight Report from CMD Recruitment.
Every January the firm – which has branches in Melksham, Calne, Devizes, Swindon, and Bath – takes a deep dive into the world of work, crunching the numbers and spotting the trends.
The 2024 report suggests the average salary in Wiltshire is a shade over £32,000 a year. The average weekly pay for employees in Wiltshire is £602.40 per week, which works out to an average hourly rate of £18.43 per hour.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate in the county remains lower than the South West and national average, says the report, at 2.4 per cent.
The report is packed with tips for employers trying to recruit in what remains a competitive market.
Pay, hybrid working, and career progression are still the top drivers for employees joining a firm, but employees are having to think hard about other factors to attract Millennials – workers aged between 28 and 43 – and Gen Z recruits – those aged 27 and younger – with meaningful work, mental health and work-life balance high on their list of priorities, and a big thumbs down to companies whose work damages the environment.
Looking forward, the report suggests the AI revolution will require a workforce skilled in data analysis, programming, and AI implementation.
