Trio of new faces in Swindon’s retail offering as Kilpatrick & Co sign deals

A new Indian restaurant will be opened in Groundwell Road, Swindon following a successful lettings negotiation with Kilpatrick & Co.

Pappadams Ltd will be throwing open their doors at Empire House following a period of refurbishment.

“We are particularly pleased to have achieved this letting at the asking rent and believe that the resurgence in the leisure sector driven by the new Regent Circus development has greatly aided the local market conditions,” said Stephen Brickell of Kilpatrick & Co.

“We are delighted to have agreed terms of a new 10 year lease on Unit 1,” he said. “Remaining at Empire House is Unit 2, which extends to 932 sq ft and is available by way of a new full repairing and insuring lease at an asking rent of £15,000 per annum exclusive.”

The team has also let an 841 sq ft lock-up shop at Godwin Court in Old Town to leading tattoo artist Mark Reynolds.

“We were particularly pleased with the strong response to the marketing of the property which resulted in the landlord experiencing no void period at all and securing a letting at the asking rent of £12,500 per annum exclusive,” said Stephen.

And a lock-up shop at Havelock Street will be opening as a barber.

“We are delighted to have let the property which extends to 995 sq ft and occupies a prominent position on Havelock Street close to Havelock Square to the owners of the Boss Barber Shop,” said Stephen.

“The new tenant will be wholesaling hairdresser and barber shop supplies and we wish them well with their additional new venture. The property was available to rent at an asking rent of £15,000 per annum exclusive and we are delighted to have agreed terms of a letting at this level.”
