Festival of Sustainable Homes to be launched in Swindon next month
The Festival of Sustainable Homes is to be launched in Swindon next month at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre.
Devised by the NSBRC and sponsored by Chippenham-based renewable energy supplier Good Energy the event will highlight how we can all live more sustainably in our homes and communities.
The two-day free event offers the latest advice on improving the energy efficiency of properties – for both new builds & existing homes.
Meanwhile, a Nature Zone will shine a light on charities and non-profit organisations that aim to improve our natural environment through targeted campaigns, free advice, and educational outreach.
Visitors can attend any of the 15 talks taking place each day, visit 200 exhibitor spaces – including life-sized houses – and get one-to-one advice from industry experts.
NSBRC managing director Harvey Fremlin said: “The festival will avoid ‘greenwash’ and offer genuine inspiration for anyone interested in creating well-designed, healthy homes, through exhibits, seminars, live demonstrations and an unrivalled lineup of experts.
“A programme of free talks will provide relevant, up-to-date, guidance for both newcomers to house-building and skilled housing professionals.”
The show will be held on Friday and Saturday May 17 and 18.
