Triodos named Best Ethical Financial Provider for fifth year running

Bristol-based Triodos Bank UK has been named Best Ethical Financial Provider at the British Bank Awards for the fifth year in a row.

The bank was also highly commended in the Best Current Account Provider category.

The awards are run by Smart Money People, the UK’s most comprehensive financial services review site.

With over 200,000 votes for the 2026 awards, votes for Triodos Bank highlighted strong commitment to ethical practices, excellence in customer support and the ease of managing money through the banking app or online.

Triodos Bank achieved an overall 4.8 out of five rating from thousands of reviews, covering its full range of products from personal current accounts and savings through to banking for businesses.

Shortlisted as a finalist in eight categories, the Bank featured in the running for Best British Bank, Customer Service Champion and Best Investments Provider.

The awards are decided by customer reviews and feedback on the Smart Money People website over a course of 14 weeks. This is the 11th year of the awards and Triodos Bank has continued to be named in multiple categories since 2020.

Triodos Bank has its UK headquarters in Bristol and serves almost 100,000 customers online and through its banking app. The bank lends actively in renewable energy, social housing and nature recovery and does not finance fossil fuels, fast fashion, deforestation or weapons.
