Business award for Army veteran who joined civvy street
Army veteran Amie Spinks has won the New Service Leaver of the Year award at the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards after joining Trowbridge-based business solutions firm SA Group.
Amie joined the employee-owned firm after a 22-year career in the Royal Corps of Signals.
At SA Group she works with public sector organisations and businesses delivering high value assurance, vulnerability management, and risk-based decision support.
Judges said Aime had demonstrated an “exceptional ability to hit the ground running after leaving the forces, bringing her military foundations to bear immediately and building visibly on top of them from day one.
“She has actively sought out new opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive, impressing at every level of her organisation and demonstrating a trajectory that already points toward significant future leadership.
“The combination of scale, complexity and clear forward momentum made her a deserving winner.”
Amie said: “I am delighted to receive this award, it means a great deal to me. My gratitude goes to SA Group for the nomination, and for their continued support throughout my career so far.”
The British Ex-Forces in Business Awards is the world’s largest celebration of ex-military personnel in second careers.
This year’s ceremony was hosted by broadcaster Nina Hossain.
