IT technician in the doghouse – for the right reasons

IT technician Nathan Painter, from Wiltshire IT company Systemagic, agreed to be locked in a dog kennel to raise £1000 for charity.

Nathan (24), was inspired to do the 2015 Kennel Challenge for the Bath Cats and Dogs Home after helping the charity with their computer systems for the last few years.

He said: “I could see how hard the staff work there to look after all the animals and I wanted to show my support for them.”

Nathan was in the doghouse alongside eight other people on the fundraising day earlier this month. He said the experience was fun and worthwhile and he’s now planning his next charitable venture with Systemagic.

Systemagic has been part of the local business community for 15 years. It provides IT support and maintenance for clients as well as broadband and internet connectivity, cloud services including online back-up and hosted exchange.

Last year the company won the Micro Employer of the Year title in the Bristol and Bath Apprentice Awards. The honour recognised the company’s commitment to employing apprentices. The company is run by James Eades, who lives in Wiltshire and is the founder of Wiltshire Bikers.
