Swindon business networking group appoints new chair

Wiltshire businesswoman Louise Muir-Sage has been appointed as the new chairman of Swindon’s long-standing business referral group, BusinessWise.

The independent, not for profit business group is one of the most established in the town and the county with a history dating back more than ten years.

The group meets fortnightly on a Friday at Basset Down Complex, off junction 16 of the M4. Business owners attending the networking group which operates a ‘single seat’ model – only one person representing each business discipline can join.

Something Kind of Woo founder Louise, who has been a member for two years, holds the ‘Crystal and Reiki’ seat.

“I’ve been with BusinessWise for a few years,” said Louise. “I knew it was a business referral group and a single seat organisation. What I didn’t realise, until I became a member is the true community and support that exists within the group.”

Louise is a thriving business owner, in 2025 she opened her High Street business, Something Kind of Woo, in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Due to the success and demand of her crystal and spiritual shop, she expanded into Something Kind of Woo Too to offer Reiki and community events, just two months later.

Her entrepreneurship and engagement with the local community makes her an ideal candidate to become chair and BusinessWise.

“Support groups have shaped my life in one way or another, and I have always tried to give back when I’ve felt ready,” she continued.

“Standing as chair of BusinessWise is a way of giving back to a group that has supported me personally and professionally.”

Louise has taken over the position from fellow member John Lewis of JL Mindset Performance, who is still an active member.

John said: “Bringing in a new chair keeps the group energised and fresh. Louise has her own ideas and her own vision for the group and its future success and we’re thrilled she’s stepped up to take us through 2026 and 2027.”
