Retiring Paralympian to address Businesswise event
Paralympic athlete Chris Hunt Skelley will address networkers at an open meeting of referral group Businesswise next month.
Chris, who is visually impaired, will share his story of his journey to the Paris 2024 Paralympics where he won a bronze medal in the para judo.
He had already taken a gold medal four years earlier in Tokyo.
“I’m excited to be able to share some of my story with local business owners and freelancers – even more so now that I number myself among them,” Chris said.
Recently Chris, who lives in Wiltshire with his wife Louise, herself a former Paralympian and wheelchair tennis player, announced his retirement from elite sport.
He is now setting out on a new career path offering master classes in judo to grassroots clubs and as a pundit and tv commentator on the sport that he loves.
“When I was losing my sight, judo literally saved me,” Chris said. “And it will always be an important part of my life. Now I’m sharing my skills with others to empower and support others not only in judo but in life.”
The Businesswise Open Networking Event will be held at DoubleTree by Hilton in Swindon on Tuesday, March 11. from 6.30pm.
