Green Machine hires three new staff as demand for tech recycling grows
Swindon-based tech recycling firm Green Machine has hired three new staff as demand for its services grows.
The firm has appointed Fred Wright to the position of technical sales manager, Noorullah Hashmi as recycling technician, and Onnee Kaneen as marketing and business administrator. With an apprenticeship in corporate & social responsibility starting in September Onnee is also the firm’s CSR champion.
Established in 2011 by entrepreneur Simon Crisp, Green Machine – which last month won the Excellence in Sustainability award at the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Awards – collects and securely wipes old tech from companies across the UK before refurbishing and either selling hardware or donating it to schools and community groups through its community interest company arm, Tech Hub.
So far this year, the team has processed more than 15,000 pieces of tech into its recycling facility – putting the firm on course to beat 2023’s 23,000 items.
In 2023 Green Machine donated over £25,000 worth of devices to people in need. Charities that received tech from Green Machine included Julia’s House, The Nelson Trust, Action Through Enterprise, and Prospect.
Head of sales and marketing Natalie King-Barnard said: “We’re really excited about the current growth of Green Machine.
“Our new team members are already making a huge difference to our operations and we’re looking forward to the positive changes that their presence will have in our organisation.”
