Creative agency takes on three new staff

Fast-growing creative agency Milk & Tweed has brought its total staff to 22 with three new appointments.

The fast-growing creative agency, which has offices in Chippenham, Wiltshire, and Brighton, has recently appointed senior marketing manager Paige Daley and marketing executives Hannah Croft and Ed Sage.

Jake said he is pleased the new staff have been attracted by the culture and inclusivity of the agency, which specialises in web and brand design and digital marketing.

“We have new clients joining us each month and on top of that we are seeing more demand from our existing clients, so we need to ensure our standards of service keep pace with our growth,” he added.

Paige, from Bristol, comes with ten years of experience working for agencies and in in-house branding roles. The 30-year-old, who did a marketing management degree in Brighton, said she is looking forward to working strategically to help clients get their messaging out.

She leapt at the chance to join Milk & Tweed, and the opportunity to work as part of a larger team.

“I miss the variety of an agency after working in-house in my last job and being able to work across multiple client projects helps me to flex my strategic brain a little bit more,” she said.

“When I did some research on Milk & Tweed I could see how fantastic the culture was here and I could feel the heart of the business just from what they were sharing on their marketing channels.

“I prefer a more relaxed environment that’s conducive to the feeling that no ideas are bad ideas, come as you are and then we’ll get the best out of you. That’s what I got a sense of here.”

Hannah, 27, from Chippenham, is a former St John’s School, Marlborough, pupil and gained a degree in journalism and publishing at Bath Spa University.

She went straight into a small legal publishing company that found itself at the centre of uncovering the Post Office scandal when it published journalist Nick Wallis’ book about the Horizon cover-up and mistreatment of postmasters.

“It was very exciting,” she said. “It was a very small team, just me and a husband and wife working from their dining room. I did a bit of everything, marketing, proofreading, typesetting and visiting authors, it was really awesome.”

She said the marketing was what interested her most so when she saw the role at Milk & Tweed she relished the chance widening here experience.

“I always thought it just seemed so much fun and not what a traditional workplace would look like,” she said. “I craved somewhere where I could collaborate with people and be in a team.”

She works with a range of clients developing ideas for web copy and social media posts. “It’s very energetic and fast-paced, which I love,” she said. “Having responsibility of clients is rewarding and working across the different teams within the agency is very collaborative, which I really like.

“I can see progression in the role, which is really important to me, and every day and every client is different. I genuinely wake up excited to come in and see what’s on my list for the day.”

Ed, 29, from Bristol, went into marketing through an apprenticeship after working in retail. He has a variety of agency and in-house experience but took the role at Milk & Tweed to develop his SEO skills.

“This felt like it was just a really comfortable place as soon as I walked in,” he said. “I love focusing on SEO and the technical side. I have ADHD, which can be quite struggle at work, but they play to my strengths here and it really helps.

“I’m already seeing a lot of positive results from the work I’ve done with clients who weren’t even ranking in Google now appearing on the first page, which I’m quite proud of. It’s a great environment and I’m absolutely loving it.”

The new starters come on the back of the agency’s appointment of its first client relationship team, led by Meg Fenner-Jamieson.

“We have a lot of fun here, and I have always wanted to build an agency that had a social side and wasn’t just about work,” said Jake.

“But we also are very serious about our work, putting our clients first and always striving to deliver the quality of service and work they’ve come to expect.

“These three appointments are all about pushing that service and our work to the next level.”
