Two new appointments strengthen accountancy team
Growing chartered accountancy firm Banks BHG has made two new appointments to strengthen its team.
Pammi Khaira joins the Swindon-based company as a tax assistant, and Esha Akram becomes an account trainee.
Pammi, 38, from West Swindon, has had an 18 year career with HMRC, which she joined after college, working largely in debt management.
“HMRC are a good employer but with regards to the career prospects locally they were few and far between, and with the Government reducing the Civil Service I was very grateful for the opportunity at Banks BHG and to still be working in tax,” said Pammi. “The new challenge of working in the private sector is a major transition from public service but I am determined to succeed.”
Esha, 22, from Carterton, graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2013 with a degree in accounting and finance, and initially worked in industry.
She said: “I found it didn’t suit me, as I was working on the company’s internal finances and I wanted to be working with clients.
“I am really enjoying it at Banks BHG. My parents have a business, so I know how important accountancy is for companies and I will be in a position to start helping other companies with their accounting.”
Richard Mathews, director at Banks BHG, said: “Both Pammi and Esha are already proving to be a great asset to the company. We are getting busier all the time, and need to grow our departments across the board.
“We’re also a big supporter of apprenticeships, so it’s great to have Esha on board as our latest account trainee.”
Banks BHG is supporting both women to work towards their professional qualifications. Pammi is taking her ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) exams, and Esha plans to become a chartered accountant by taking her ACA qualifications.
