A golf day organised by Swindon chartered accountants Banks BHG has boosted their charity fundraising by more than £900.
The Stratton-based company has raised more than £3,500 so far this year for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, which is opening the first children’s hospice in Wiltshire, based in Devizes.
The golf day, hosted at the Wrag Barn club in Swindon, was one of several events the company is holding throughout 2016, which also include a quiz, bake-off and race night.
“Once again, we had great weather for our golf day and a really great turnout from among clients, staff and associates,” said Banks BHG head of tax Paul Gosling.
“We’re very grateful to everybody who came along to enjoy the day and to support such a good cause.”
Team winners were Bernard Harrington, Rob Littler, David Walpole and Neil Durham; nearest the pin winners were Barry James and Andy Ratcliffe; longest drive winners were Andy Barnett and Alex Wilkie; and singles winner was Richard Davies.
Ged Montgomery, from Julia’s House, said: “We are so grateful to Banks BHG for the incredible amount of funds raised for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice as part of their recent golf day. It was a fantastic event which was very well organised and all the guests had a brilliant time”.

From cake bakes, quiz nights, walks – the support has been fantastic and very much appreciated.”
Each year, Banks BHG supports a local charity. Over the last five years, the company has raised more than £12,000 for good causes.
