Aer Studios appoints new head of technology

Creative tech studio Aer Studios has appointed James Hobbs as its head of technology.

James brings a wealth of experience from his time at Dyson – where he led the global digital technical team from its inception to over twenty members – and Great State.

He was recently recognised in the British Interactive Media Association’s BIMA 100 for Sustainability. Aer Studios won its own prestigious BIMA Award in the Innovative App category in October 2023.

Based in Box, between Corsham and Bath, Aer develops websites, apps, games, and platforms. It was the sole South West creative technology studio to earn a place on the BBC roster last summer.

James joins at a time when Aer Studios also announces a new trio of practice leads, including Max Waring (front end), Jon Chard (back end), and Aaron Bushell (dev-ops), and shortly after the addition of Lucy Rees, head of people and culture, further strengthening Aer Studios’ leadership team.
