Sir Ranulph Fiennes will be keynote speaker at Salisbury Big Business Event

The world’s greatest living explorer – Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE – has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at the sixth Salisbury Big Business Event.

Sir Ranulph, who is the only man alive to have travelled the surface of the world’s polar axis, will share his sheer resilience and no-nonsense approach to creating and building his team in pursuit of the apparent impossible.

“There is no bigger challenge than being in business and all the hurdles and uphill struggles that come with it,” said the explorer.

“I hope by sharing my story of determination and team effort it will help the business community and wider general public. I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the Salisbury event.”

An evening with Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, April 25, the first day of the three-day event.

Salisbury’s annual three-day business event starts at 7.45am on Tuesday (April 25) with a free networking breakfast hosted by Salisbury Journal and the Federation of Small Business in the Guildhall.

Alison Edgar, MD of Sales Coaching Solutions, will be leading a workshop called Selling is NOT swearing from 10am. Lindsey Brown Burden of LBB Business Solutions will lead at Marketing Masterclass from 2pm to 4pm.

Day 2 (Wednesday, April 26) starts with a free networking breakfast hosted by Salisbury City Council and Wiltshire Council in The Guildhall.

Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce will run a meet the buyer event from 9.30am until 11.30am, followed by the Chamber 90- minute lunch (noon to 1.30pm).

From 2.30pm until 3pm Chamber speaker Maria Miles of Airfield Services NTS at QinetiQ will present, and following a chance to meet the Chamber directors from 3pm to 4pm the Young Chamber will be holding a networking event for young professionals from 4.30pm until 6pm.

Seminars on team building, alternative sources of finance, and cybercrime will be held in The Guildhall, while the Business Expo continues in the Market Place.

The final day (Thursday, April 27) starts with a business breakfast hosted by Inspire (7.45am to 9am, The Guildhall, and finishes with The Big BBQ Networking Event in The Guildhall and Guildhall Square from 6pm until 8pm.

Between times there are seminars from Introtweet (How to use Twitter to engage with your target audience), Blue Frontier (The Power of Paid Advertising), and SWLEP (South Wiltshire Economic Update), along with workshops by Naturally Social (Instagram Vs Snapchat: social media in 2017) and Simon Rhodes (Vision, Leadership and Workplace Culture: How to drive your business success).

FSB will be hosting a networking lunch for members in The Guildhall Square, and the Salisbury and Wilts Business Expo returns to the Market Place for a second day (9am to 4pm).
