Underwear entrepreneur to headline Salisbury’s Big Business Event
Salisbury’s Big Business Event next week will give delegates the chance to hear the rags-to-riches story of underwear entrepreneur Michelle Mone.
The inventor of the Ultimo bra, with which she made her £20m fortune, left her Glasgow school aged 15 with no qualifications to become a model.
In 2010 Mone was awarded an OBE for services to the lingerie industry, and in 2015 she was given a life peerage as Baroness Mone of Mayfair.
Lady Mone will be addressing the Big Business Ultimate Networking Event on the final day of the three-day event.
The Big Business Event returns to Salisbury’s Guildhall for its fifth year from Tuesday to Thursday, April 19 to 21.
The event kicks off at 7.45am on Tuesday with a Big Breakfast Launch, which will be addressed by Beermat Entrepreneur Mike Southon, who has been involved in the start up of no fewer than 17 companies – including two which were floated on the Stock Market – and written books about entrepreneurship.
Other highlights include Wiltshire Council’s Business Expo on the Market Place, the Federation of Small Business’ Trade Fair, and Salisbury City Council’s Made in Salisbury and Wealth of Wiltshire Market.
There are also seminars – including a blogging lunch, financial advice, and business clinics – and plenty of networking opportunities.
The event is organised by Salisbury City Council, Wiltshire Council, The Federation of Small Businesses, Salisbury Chamber of Commerce and Salisbury Business Improvement District.
