Thrings duo feature in Chambers High Net Worth rankings

Two partners at Swindon-headquartered law firm Thrings have been acknowledged in the prestigious Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide as its private client team maintains its place in the rankings.

Returning to the rankings this year, Penelope Munro (pictured right) is listed in the High Net Work rankings for the second consecutive year, ranked in Band 3 of the 2024 edition with the guide highlighting her “understanding and empathetic” nature.

With her expertise lying within the areas of private wealth and agriculture, Penelope regularly advises the farming community and landowners on succession, supporting families through intricate estate administration with clarity and sensitivity.

This also sees her work with the personal representatives of estates, including businesses and farms, on tax matters and dealing with HMRC to secure claims for relief.

The firm’s wider private client team in Bath again feature in the guide, ranked in Band 2, for their work in Private Wealth Law – a result of their “first-class” advice and client testimonies describing them as “clear and responsive” and “extremely knowledgeable and efficient”.

Meanwhile, Jayne Kemsley (left), partner in the residential property team in London, is ranked for the first time in the guide this year under Band 4, highlighting her “pragmatic” approach with feedback in the rankings including that she is “a joy to work with” and the “number one solicitor of choice for conveyancing”.

Having worked with many of her clients for more than 25 years, Jayne’s practice focuses on acquisitions and disposals of residential property with her reputation for addressing challenges head-on and solving problems with efficiency and empathy a key part of her tailored support for each client’s needs.

The announcement is the latest inclusion for the firm into the prestigious Chambers and Partners rankings, which has been recognised as a leading source of legal market intelligence for more than 30 years, with a dozen departments and many more individual lawyers also ranked from across the firm’s numerous offices.

The Chambers High Net Worth Guide differentiates the best professional advisers for international private wealth, providing an objective view by identifying and ranking law firms, lawyers and a range of other professional advisers globally.

Simon Holdsworth, Thrings managing partner, said: “It is fantastic to see Penelope and the Private Client team maintain their well-earned place in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide, with Jayne’s first listing this year equally as deserved.

“Both are examples of what dedication to their work should look like, with the feedback in the guide accurately reflecting their reputations as trusted advisers, and this flows very much into the outstanding work of their teams to support clients through complicated and often stressful times.”
