Brewdog to close 38 UK bars – including Bristol and Bath outlets
Brewery Brewdog is to close 38 bars with the loss of nearly 500 jobs after the firm was bought by a US firm.
Tilray Brands, which produces medicinal cannabis as well as craft beer in the US, has acquired the BrewDog brand in a £33 million deal.
The deal came after BrewDog, which makes craft beer such as Punk IPA and Elvis Juice, fell into administration on Monday.
The firm bought a number of BrewDog assets including the global brand and related intellectual property, its UK brewing operation and 11 of its pubs in the UK and Ireland.
But administrators confirmed that 38 would close, including the bar at Baldwin Street which has been trading since 2012, Bristol Harbourside, which opened in 2022, and Bath, which opened in 2021.
