Avon Technologies wins $18 million order for military face masks
A Wiltshire-based manufacturer of personal protection gear for the military and emergency services has won an $18 million order from the US Department of Defense.
Avon Technologies’ defence division, Avon Protection, has received the order for the M50 Joint Service General Purpose mask and related carriers.
Avon Protection is the sole provider of the DoD’s M50 CBRN respirator, which provides full-face protection against Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear threats.
The M50 respirator is in use within all branches of the US military.
The company said the contract would be delivered in its financial year 2026, adding to a “strong order book going into next year.”
CEO Jos Sclater said: “We have a long standing partnership with the US Department of Defence to supply our world-leading M50 CBRN mask. This order further demonstrates the recurring nature of the DoD’s demand as they continue to invest in protecting the lives of their war fighters in an increasingly prevalent CBRN threat environment.”
