Avon Protection lands multi-million Euro deal with German Navy
Military equipment manufacturer Avon Protection has secured a contract to supply the German Navy with breathing apparatus for military diving operations.
The multi-million Euro order includes the supply of Avon’s market-leading rebreather and ongoing technical support.
Melksham-based Avon Protection said the MCM100 is the “most advanced underwater life-support capability for global military divers.”
Designed in collaboration with the UK’s Defence Science & Technology Laboratory and the Royal Norwegian Navy the MCM100 is designed to work in both shallow and deep water military diving applications and has been optimised for explosive ordnance disposal, mine countermeasures, and special forces operations.
Avon Protection CEO Jos Sclater said: “The selection of our rebreather by the German Navy is a significant award for Avon Protection and the military diving personnel who will benefit from the cutting-edge technologies and enhanced operability it will bring them.”
