Avon Protection secures $38 million order for ballistic helmets

Avon Protection, the personal protection company which manufactures defence equipment for military, police, industrial and fire service personnel from its factory in Melksham, has won a $38 million (£30 million) order for ballistic helmets from the US military.

It is the firm’s second order from the US Army under the Next Generation Integrated Head Protection System helmet contract, which was previously awarded in September 2021.

CEO Jos Sclater said: “We have a rich history of protecting US military personnel with our advanced protection solutions and we look forward to working alongside our customer as they continue to develop their military capability.”
