Education recruitment agency agrees deal for new Bristol headquarters

A specialist education recruitment agency has agreed to lease more than 8,000 sq ft at Aztec West business park in Bristol in a deal supported by global real estate firm JLL.

Dovetail & Slate is a fast-growing recruitment agency with expertise in the education sector, working with schools, colleges and universities across the country to pair them with teachers, lecturers and instructors to support their education provision.

It is also part of the wider Talentia Group, which has over 200 years of combined experience in recruitment.

The business, which is a certified B Corp had outgrown its current North Bristol premises.

JLL and Knight Frank acted as joint letting agents on the deal, which will see the firm take up 8,200 sq ft of high-quality office space at 740 Aztec West.

Owned by Legal & General, the building was totally overhauled when they purchased it ten years ago and is now due to be upgraded.

It has also significantly enhanced the sustainability credentials of the space, improving its EPC rating to A and achieving a BREAAM Very Good accreditation.

The site also has several solar panels along the roof helping to power the building and works are underway to make it all electric on a NZC pathway.

Hannah Waterhouse, office agency director at JLL in Bristol, said: “This latest letting represents the ongoing flight to quality that we’re seeing from occupiers, who are continuing to recognise the value business parks can offer, particularly from a cost and benefit point of view when comparing to the city centre.

“L&G is a landlord committed to bringing about this sustainable change and is very focused on building improvement.

“There’s a strong appetite for premium out-of-town accommodation in well-established locations like Aztec West, which have the transport links, parking and wider facilities to support modern hybrid working patterns.

“It was great to successfully complete this letting for Dovetail & Slate and help them find the perfect location for their headquarters.”

Guy Walker, CEO at Talentia Group, added: “Bristol is thriving for us because it offers access to exceptional talent, a dynamic business ecosystem and a culture of innovation that mirrors our own.

“We needed a new headquarters that reflects both our ambition and our people-first culture. 740 Aztec gives us exactly that – a modern, collaborative space right at the heart of Bristol’s thriving business community.”

Joe Averill, managing director at LEVEL, who advised Dovetail & Slate on the deal, added: “It’s been a pleasure supporting Dovetail & Slate in securing their new headquarters.

“The move to 740 Aztec West provides them with the quality of space needed to continue their impressive growth journey, while also aligning with their values as a B Corp.

“This modern, sustainable environment will allow the team to thrive and reflects the strength of Bristol as a hub for ambitious, people-focused businesses.”
