SWIG Finance gives big tick to entrepreneur’s sleep training clock
The latest innovation from Bristol-based entrepreneur and Trunki founder Rob Law has been given a big tick by funder SWIG Finance.
The launch of the Zeepy Sleep Training Clock is backed with a £25,000 Start Up Loan facilitated by the Bristol-based lender.
Aimed at children aged between two and six, the Zeepy Sleep Training Clock uses melatonin-friendly lighting to help foster a more restful sleep.
To complement the clock, Rob has developed a library of expert-backed content, such as meditative podcasts, that are deeply rooted in child psychology.
Inconsistent sleep patterns are proven to have a negative effect on children, and Rob’s new venture will support parents in establishing healthier sleep patterns and developing better sleep hygiene routines.
Rob is no stranger launching products to market, having successfully launched children’s ride on suitcase brand, Trunki.
Despite having been famously rejected in Dragon’s Den back in 2006, Rob went on to create a brand that is globally recognised.
Rob said “Securing the Start Up Loan was a pivotal moment for my new business Zeepy. As sales surged faster than we anticipated, we faced a critical cash flow gap that could have hindered our growth.
“SWIG Finance provided the ideal solution. The application process was swift and straightforward — I simply integrated my business plan into their template, and within weeks, the funds were in my account.
“This loan has allowed us to meet customer demand and continue our upward trajectory”.
SWIG’s Start Up Loans senior manager, Jo MacEachen, said: “Rob has an impressive background ranging from industrial design and product development to marketing and importing and exporting.
“In a world where great emphasis is placed on wellbeing, this multi-faceted product offering will help Rob stand out in the sleep aid marketplace”.
Richard Bearman, managing director of Small Business Lending at British Business Bank said: “We’re pleased our Start Up Loans programme was able to support Rob to scale his business at such a pivotal time.
“The Zeepy Sleep Training Clock can help address a need for healthier sleep patterns in children and we’re excited to see how Zeepy continues to grow and make a positive impact on families.”
