From racing cars to delivery trucks – Wiltshire event will look at the future of electrification
Companies whose business relies on wheeled transport are being invited to learn about the future of electrification and alternative fuels.
The event – aimed at company owners in the automotive, motorsport, transport or logistics sectors – will be held at Castle Combe Circuit – the test track for the electric hypercar from McMurtry Automotive.
The event – which is being jointly run by Business West and Wiltshire College & University Centre – will look at the challenges posed by the switch to electric and alternative fuels, how consumer attitudes towards sustainability and EV are changing the sector, and the opportunities that have arisen from new technology.
Powering Progress runs between 2pm and 5pm on Wednesday, December 11. Tickets, which are free, are available at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/powering-progress-the-future-of-electrification-alternative-fuels-tickets-1006751880977
This summer, Wotton-under-Edge-based McMurtry Automotive broke the lap record at the 1.85-mile Castle Combe race track, completing the circuit in 54.559 seconds with a 155mph speed limit.
The hypercar – which can reach 0-60 in 1.55 seconds and has a top speed of 185mph – was running at 80 per cent power.
