Accountants get quizzing for charity
Swindon’s brainiest business people are being urged to get their thinking caps on and join in a quiz to raise money for a Swindon youth charity.
Town-based chartered accountants Banks BHG is organising the event on April 22 in aid of Inner Flame, a charity geared towards helping 16 to 25-year-olds build confidence and achieve their goals. The event gets underway at 7pm at the De Vere hotel, West Swindon, and is open to teams of up to four, and entry fee is £5 each.
The quiz is the first fundraising event of 2015 for Banks BHG, which supports a local charity every year, in the past four years raising more than £9,000 for good causes including Prospect Hospice and children’s cancer charity CALM.
“We’re delighted to be helping Inner Flame this year,” said Banks BHG director Richard Mathews. “It’s an excellent charity, supporting young people, and meets our criteria of being locally based.”
As well as the quiz, Banks BHG staff are planning a sponsored walk and a bake-off, and the firm is hosting a golf day in July. There will also be a second quiz in October.
David Wreathall, founder of Inner Flame, which delivers The Prince’s Trust Team Programme in Swindon to help young people into employment, said: “We were delighted to be chosen as charity of the year by Banks BHG. Some of our programmes depend entirely upon voluntary donations, so backing from local businesses makes a huge difference.”
Quiz teams need to enter in advance, as no entries will be taken on the night. For more information email claire.hunt@banksbhg.com or visit www.banksbhg.com
