Sustainability show offers solutions to oil crisis

With the UK in the grip of yet another oil crisis, a Swindon business is expecting roaring trade at its next sustainability show.

The May show at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre, the UK’s award-winning Self Build and Home Improvements Visitor Centre, offers two full days of masterclasses, case studies, seminars and an unrivalled line-up of experts on hand to share their advice.

Homeowners can find out about key technologies to keep energy consumption – and bills – lower, including insulation, air source heat pumps, solar panels and triple-glazed windows.

The Show will have a timetable packed full of informative and impartial talks, to help inspire your homebuilding plans.

Alongside 200+ exhibitors within the NSBRC’s unique Trade Village, the Professional Services Hub is the place to go for independent, free expert advice from a range of specialists.

Visitors will find architects and designers, as well as experts on planning, project management, site safety, landscaping and more.

The Build It Theatre is the place to go to hear key, fundamental self build topics before embarking on a project: finding land, budgeting, planning, VAT reclaim and the latest on building regulations.

Seminars will also be held in the Sustainability Theatre covering how homeowners can we mitigate against rising energy costs, and other increasing costs.

Experts will explore the technologies available to us including insulation, air source heat pumps, solar panels and triple-glazed windows.

Since opening its doors in 2007, more than a quarter of a million visitors have turned to the Visitor Centre for support in creating Better Sustainable Homes.

Sustainability isn’t just a topic covered during the shows – it sits at the heart of how the NSBRC operates as an organisation.

The team recognises that running a business has an environmental impact and is committed to continually reducing it.

The Show runs from Friday 15 to Saturday 16 May with free advance tickets at: https://www.nsbrc.co.uk/whats-on/our-events/the-national-self-build-and-renovation-show
