Lexus Swindon to host networking event in aid of Julia’s House
Car dealership Lexus Swindon is to host a networking event in aid of its charity of the year, children’s hospice, Julia’s House.
The networking event on Wednesday, March 27 will kickstart a year of fundraising activity and support for the charity by the Lexus Swindon team.
Taking place at the Paddington Drive dealership from 8am until 10am, the event will feature a talk on Cultivating Culture by Julia’s House CEO Martin Edwards.
Now approaching his 15th year as the charity’s CEO, Dr Edwards will share ideas and stories from his own experience of leading an organisation that was last year named the Best Charity to Work For at the national Best Companies awards.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore how Julia’s House fosters a culture of support and excellence, and gain valuable insights into creating a positive workplace culture.
Ben Wildeboer, Lexus business centre manager, said, “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Julia’s House Children’s Hospice as our chosen charity for the year 2024.
“At Lexus Swindon, we believe strongly in supporting local charities, especially those that provide essential care and support to families facing the unimaginable challenge of having a seriously ill child.
“Many of our staff members have families of their own, which makes our support for Julia’s House particularly meaningful to us.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that families in our community have access to the exceptional care and support that Julia’s House offers during such challenging times.
“As a brand, Lexus has always prioritised workplace and company culture, recognising its importance in fostering a supportive and thriving environment.
“We are excited to welcome Dr Martin Edwards, CEO of Julia’s House, to share his expertise on this topic at our upcoming networking event.”
Jo Common, corporate fundraiser for Julia’s House, said: “This is our first time hosting a networking event, so we’re really excited and delighted to have the support of Lexus Swindon.
“She added, “We’re so pleased that the team at Lexus Swindon have chosen Julia’s House as their Charity of the Year for 2024.
“As a charity, Julia’s House only receives around eight per cent government funding.
“And this year, we’re anticipating that our care costs and the demand for our care will continue to increase, so we’re even more reliant on our amazing supporters to help us provide our lifeline of care for local families.”
Tickets for the event cost £10 + VAT. To book a place visit https://www.juliashouse.org/event/julias-house-networking-cultivating-culture
