Light display spreads Christmas cheers at Bristol Children’s Hospital
Construction firm Shield Services Group has provided a dazzling Christmas lights display outside the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, to spread some Christmas cheer and raise vital funds for charity.
The Warmley-based firm, which operates nationally, constructed the display on scaffolding erected opposite the hospital, bringing joy to young patients and their families.
The lights were switched on by Bristol Rovers legend and Swindon Town manager Ian Holloway and funds raised through a Justgiving page will go directly to The Grand Appeal, the official charity of Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Luke House, chairman of Shield Services Group, said: “Supporting local charities is really important to us and this year we wanted to use our scaffolding expertise as a way of bringing joy to families going through a tough time.
“Raising money for The Grand Appeal, which does incredible work for the hospital and its patients is a bonus, and we’re proud to play a small role in making this Christmas brighter for the children and families at Bristol Children’s Hospital.”
The Grand Appeal funds life-saving equipment and vital research and provides family accommodation and support services to enhance the lives of patients at Bristol Children’s Hospital and their families.
Kate Jones from The Grand Appeal said: “We are incredibly grateful to Shield Services Group for their generosity and creativity in supporting the young patients and families at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
“This spectacular light display is a shining example of how the local community comes together to spread joy and hope during the festive season, while raising vital funds that help The Grand Appeal continue its work.”
The lights will remain on display throughout the festive season and donations to The Grand Appeal can be made at www.justgiving.com/page/lauren-angell-1732106570591
