Swindon businessman to run a charity half marathon… around his work premises

A Swindon businessman hopes to complete a half marathon this weekend – by running around his workplace.

Thankfully for Harvey Fremlin, work is the cavernous National Self Build and Renovation Centre.

The managing director will be supported – and a suitable distance – by business development manager, Phil Wilson.

Harvey’s Easter Sunday challenge is to raise money for homelessness charity Threshold, the NSBRC’s charity of the year.

“Team NSBRC have been admiring the efforts of the Threshold team and wondering what we could do to help them, at this strange time, when the NSBRC along with many businesses is closed, and interaction with people is not recommended,” said Harvey.

“In normal times they provide a brilliant service to homeless people, in and around Swindon, giving emotional support, emergency accommodation and offering a pathway to stability.

“However, we find ourselves in far from ‘normal’ times and last week the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, called for all rough sleepers to be housed during the Covid-19 crisis. Swindon’s Great Western Hotel have really stepped up, helping Swindon Borough Council provide temporary shelter for Swindon’s rough sleepers.

“Threshold, who are co-ordinating the effort, are in desperate need of food, drinks, toiletries, fresh clothes etc. to provide for all their guests, who have little or no source of income.”

A fundraising target of £500 has been set. To support Harvey and Threshold head to https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/NSBRC_Half_for_Threshold
